From TYPO3 to Webflow: a large migration, quick results
From TYPO3 to Webflow: 500 pieces of content migrated, load time halved, first gains in Google after 7 days.
The client had a problem plenty of people will recognise: a website nobody wanted to touch any more. TYPO3, old, sluggish. Changes took forever. Mobile visitors got a view that was barely usable. And Google saw all of it too: poor load times, poor rankings.
We rebuilt the lot.
How the project ran
We pulled every single piece of content out of the old system, checked it and rebuilt it in Webflow. More than 500 pages, articles and elements. That sounds like grind work, because it is. No amount of automation replaces thinking each page through.
During the project we looked hard at the visitor data. What we found stopped us for a moment: one in two visitors was on a smartphone. On a website that was almost unreadable on a phone.
That changed the order of the work. We rebuilt the mobile view from the ground up, starting with what actually matters to that audience: finding contact details, understanding the services, building trust.
What happened next
One week after launch:
- Google PageSpeed score: from 69 to 96. That is the measure Google uses to judge loading speed. Below 70 you lose positions. Above 90 you are favoured.
- First improvements visible in the search results. No magic: clean code, fast loading, works on a phone. Google rewards that.
What the client has now
A website that loads quickly. That works on a phone. That Google understands.
And a CMS the team can make changes in themselves, without waiting on an agency.
