Privacy policy
This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.
The following notes give a straightforward overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on data protection can be found in the privacy policy set out below this text.
Data collection on this website
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You will find their contact details in the imprint of this website.
How do we collect your data?
Some of your data is collected because you provide it to us. This may be, for example, data you enter into a contact form.
Other data is collected automatically, or with your consent, by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is primarily technical data (browser, operating system, time of the page request). This data is recorded automatically as soon as you enter the website. What do we use your data for? Some of the data is collected to ensure the website is provided without error. Other data may be used to analyse how you use the site.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to obtain information, free of charge, about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have a right to request that this data be corrected or deleted. If you have given consent to data processing, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right, in certain circumstances, to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. Furthermore, you have a right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint regarding this and any other questions on data protection.
Analytics tools and third-party tools. When you visit this website, your browsing behaviour may be analysed statistically. This happens primarily through analytics programmes. Detailed information about these programmes can be found in the privacy policy below.
2. Hosting and content delivery networks (CDN)
External hosting
This website is hosted by an external service provider (the host). Personal data collected on this website is stored on the host's servers. This may include IP addresses, contact enquiries, meta and communication data, contract data, contact details, names, website accesses and other data generated through a website.
The host is used for the purpose of fulfilling our contract with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of secure, fast and efficient provision of our online offering by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Our host will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil its performance obligations and will follow our instructions in relation to that data.
We use the following host:
Webflow, Inc.
398 11th Street, 2nd Floor
San Francisco, CA 94103, United States of America
Data processing agreement. To ensure processing in line with data protection law, we have concluded a data processing agreement with our host.
3. General information and mandatory disclosures
Data protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection provisions and this privacy policy.
When you use this website, various items of personal data are collected. Personal data is data by which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains what data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose that happens.
We point out that data transmission over the internet (for example when communicating by email) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Note on the responsible party
The party responsible for data processing on this website is:
Remodify UG (limited liability)
Bärensteinstraße 5
12685 Berlin, Germany
Email: remodifyberlin@gmail.de
The responsible party is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of processing personal data (such as names or email addresses).
Retention period
Unless a more specific retention period is stated within this privacy policy, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing it no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or withdraw consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible grounds for storing your personal data (such as retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion follows once those grounds no longer apply.
Note on data transfers to the USA
Tools from companies based in the USA are embedded on our website, among others. When these tools are active, your personal data may be passed to those companies' US servers. We point out that the USA is not a safe third country within the meaning of EU data protection law. US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you as the data subject being able to take legal action against this. It can therefore not be ruled out that US authorities (intelligence services, for instance) process, evaluate and permanently store your data held on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence over these processing activities.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to the point of withdrawal remains unaffected.
Right to object to data collection in particular cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR). WHERE DATA PROCESSING IS CARRIED OUT ON THE BASIS OF ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS ARISING FROM YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING RESTS CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS THE PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES TO ESTABLISH, EXERCISE OR DEFEND LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSES OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSES OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS CONNECTED WITH SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSES OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have a right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of their habitual residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. This right exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.
Right to data portability. You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only take place insofar as it is technically feasible.
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address line changing from "http://" to "https://" and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
When SSL or TLS encryption is active, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Information, deletion and correction
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions you have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing, and where applicable a right to have this data corrected or deleted. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint regarding this and any other questions on personal data.
Right to restriction of processing. You have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted. You can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
If you dispute the accuracy of the personal data we hold about you, we generally need time to check this. For the duration of that check you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
If the processing of your personal data was or is unlawful, you may request restriction of processing instead of deletion.
If we no longer need your personal data but you require it to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, you have the right to request restriction of processing instead of deletion.
If you have lodged an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request that the processing of your personal data be restricted.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, that data may, apart from being stored, only be processed with your consent or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to protect the rights of another natural or legal person, or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a member state.
Objection to advertising emails
The use of contact data published as part of the imprint obligation for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information material is hereby objected to. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event that unsolicited advertising is sent, for example by spam email.
4. Data collection on this website
Cookies
Our web pages use what are known as cookies. Cookies are small text files and do no damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies). Session cookies are deleted automatically at the end of your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or your web browser deletes them automatically.
In some cases cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These allow us or you to make use of certain services offered by the third-party company (for example cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies serve various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, because certain website functions would not work without them (the shopping basket function or the display of videos, for instance). Other cookies serve to evaluate user behaviour or to display advertising.
Cookies required to carry out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies), to provide certain functions you have requested (functional cookies, for example for a shopping basket) or to optimise the website (such as cookies for measuring the web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR unless another legal basis is stated. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where consent to the storage of cookies has been requested, the cookies in question are stored exclusively on the basis of that consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); consent may be withdrawn at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed when cookies are set and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Insofar as cookies from third-party companies or for analytics purposes are used, we will inform you separately about this within this privacy policy and, where applicable, request your consent.
Server log files. The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in what are known as server log files, which your browser transmits to us automatically. These are:
Browser type and browser version
Operating system used
Referrer URL
Host name of the accessing computer
Time of the server request
IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website, which requires server log files to be recorded.
Contact form. If you send us enquiries via the contact form, the details you provide in that form, including the contact data you enter there, are stored by us for the purpose of handling the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass this data on without your consent.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR insofar as your enquiry is connected with the performance of a contract or is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases the processing rests on our legitimate interest in handling the enquiries addressed to us effectively (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) where this has been requested.
The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing it no longer applies (for example once your enquiry has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.
Enquiry by email, telephone or fax
If you contact us by email, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all personal data arising from it (name, enquiry) is stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request.
The data you send us through contact enquiries remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing it no longer applies (for example once your request has been dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular statutory retention periods, remain unaffected.
Communication via WhatsApp
For communication with our customers and other third parties we use, among other things, the instant messaging service WhatsApp. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland.
Google Analytics allows the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so the operator receives various usage data, such as page views, time on page, operating systems used and the origin of the user. Google may combine this data into a profile assigned to the respective user or their device.
Google Analytics uses technologies that make it possible to recognise the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (cookies or device fingerprinting, for instance). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
This analytics tool is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its web offering and its advertising. Where corresponding consent has been requested (for example consent to the storage of cookies), the processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
The transfer of data to the USA is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/controllerterms/mccs/.
IP anonymisation
We have activated the IP anonymisation function on this website. As a result your IP address is truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transferred to the USA. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide the website operator with further services connected with website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other data held by Google.
More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google's privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.
Data processing. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.
Retention period. Data stored by Google at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (such as a user ID) or advertising IDs (such as DoubleClick cookies or the Android advertising ID) is anonymised or deleted after 14 months. Details can be found at the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=en
6. Plugins and tools
Google Web Fonts (hosted locally). To display fonts consistently, this site uses what are known as web fonts provided by Google. The Google Fonts are installed locally. No connection to Google servers takes place in the process. Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
Google reCAPTCHA. We use Google reCAPTCHA (hereinafter reCAPTCHA) on this website. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (Google), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
reCAPTCHA is used to check whether data entered on this website (in a contact form, for example) comes from a human being or from an automated programme. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyses the behaviour of the website visitor on the basis of various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the visitor enters the website. For the analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various pieces of information (for example the IP address, how long the visitor spends on the website, or mouse movements made by the user). The data recorded during the analysis is forwarded to Google.
The reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not informed that an analysis is taking place.
The storage and analysis of the data takes place on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web offerings against abusive automated spying and against spam. Where corresponding consent has been requested, the processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Further information on Google reCAPTCHA can be found in Google's privacy provisions and terms of use at the following links: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en and https://policies.google.com/terms?hl=en.
7. Audio and video conferencing
Data processing. For communication with our customers we use online conferencing tools, among other things. The individual tools we use are listed below. When you communicate with us by video or audio conference over the internet, your personal data is collected and processed by us and by the provider of the respective conferencing tool.
The conferencing tools collect all data that you provide or use in order to use the tools (email address and/or telephone number). The tools also process the duration of the conference, the start and end (time) of participation in the conference, the number of participants and other contextual information connected with the communication (metadata).
The provider of the tool also processes all technical data required to handle the online communication. This includes in particular IP addresses, MAC addresses, device IDs, device type, operating system type and version, client version, camera type, microphone or speakers, and the type of connection.
Insofar as content is exchanged, uploaded or otherwise made available within the tool, this is also stored on the servers of the tool providers. Such content includes in particular cloud recordings, chat and instant messages, voicemails, uploaded photos and videos, files, whiteboards and other information shared during use of the service.
Please note that we do not have full influence over the data processing operations of the tools used. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider. Further information on data processing by the conferencing tools can be found in the privacy policies of the tools used, which we have listed below this text.
Purpose and legal basis
The conferencing tools are used to communicate with prospective or existing contractual partners or to offer certain services to our customers (Art. 6(1)(1)(b) GDPR). Use of the tools also serves to simplify and speed up communication with us and our company in general (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where consent has been requested, the tools in question are used on the basis of that consent; consent may be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
Retention period
Data collected directly by us through the video and conferencing tools is deleted from our systems as soon as you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to its storage, or the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
We have no influence over the retention period for data stored by the operators of the conferencing tools for their own purposes. For details, please enquire directly with the operators of those tools.
Conferencing tools used
We use the following conferencing tools:
Zoom. We use Zoom. The provider of this service is Zoom Communications Inc., San Jose, 55 Almaden Boulevard, 6th Floor, San Jose, CA 95113, USA. Details of the data processing can be found in Zoom's privacy policy: https://zoom.us/de-de/privacy.html.
The transfer of data to the USA is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://zoom.us/de-de/privacy.html.
Data processing agreement. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider of Zoom and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Zoom.
Our social media presences
Data processing by social networks. We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social networks. The individual social networks we use are listed below.
Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter can generally analyse your user behaviour comprehensively when you visit their website or a website with embedded social media content (like buttons or advertising banners, for instance). Visiting our social media presences triggers numerous processing operations relevant to data protection. In detail:
If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media presence, the operator of the social media portal can assign that visit to your user account. Your personal data may, however, also be recorded if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective portal. In that case the data is collected, for example, through cookies stored on your device or by recording your IP address.
With the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media portals can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. This allows interest-based advertising to be shown to you inside and outside the respective social media presence. If you have an account with the social network in question, interest-based advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or have been logged in.
Please also note that we cannot trace all processing operations on the social media portals. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of those portals. Details can be found in the terms of use and data protection provisions of the respective social media portals.
Legal basis. Our social media presences are intended to ensure as broad a presence on the internet as possible. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The analytics processes initiated by the social networks may rest on different legal bases, which are to be stated by the operators of the social networks (for example consent within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Controller and exercising your rights. When you visit one of our social media presences (Facebook, for example), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing operations triggered during that visit. You can in principle exercise your rights (information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and complaint) both in relation to us and in relation to the operator of the respective social media portal (Facebook, for example).
Please note that despite joint responsibility with the social media portal operators, we do not have full influence over their data processing operations. Our options are largely determined by the corporate policy of the respective provider.
Retention period
Data collected directly by us through the social media presence is deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies, you ask us to delete it, or you withdraw your consent to its storage. Stored cookies remain on your device until you delete them.
Mandatory statutory provisions, in particular retention periods, remain unaffected.
We have no influence over the retention period for data stored by the operators of the social networks for their own purposes. For details, please enquire directly with the operators of the social networks (in their privacy policy, for example, see below).
We have a profile on LinkedIn. The provider is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland. LinkedIn uses advertising cookies.
If you would like to deactivate LinkedIn advertising cookies, please use the following link:
https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.
The transfer of data to the USA is based on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. Details can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/l/dpa and https://www.linkedin.com/legal/l/eu-sccs.
Details of how they handle your personal data can be found in LinkedIn's privacy policy: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
