GEO agency for AI visibility
When your customers ask ChatGPT for a provider, the answer should name your company. We build the technology, write the content and measure whether it works.
Ask, and you get names. Is yours among them?
Decision-makers now ask AI assistants whom they should hire. The answer names a handful of providers and shows where it got that from. This is what it looks like when you are one of them.

In short
A GEO agency makes sure AI systems name your company in their answers and cite your website as a source: in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews. That takes a website AI crawlers can read, content that answers questions directly, mentions on the pages the models draw from, and measurement that shows what is moving.

What is GEO?
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. It covers everything that makes a brand visible in the answers AI systems generate. SEO gets you into Google’s list of results. GEO makes sure ChatGPT and others name you when someone asks for a solution.

Why it matters in B2B
Buyers and managing directors ask AI assistants for a first overview before they visit a website. The answer usually names only a few providers. If you are missing there, you never make the shortlist.
Many names, one field: GAIO, LLMO, AEO and AI SEO describe essentially the same work. Whether an agency calls itself a GEO agency or an AI SEO agency is mostly a matter of labels.
How do SEO and GEO differ?
12%
of the links ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot cite as sources also rank in Google’s top 10 for the same question.
Ahrefs, 15,000 queries, August 2025
SEO works towards positions in a list, GEO towards mentions in a written answer. Much of it overlaps, but the levers and the measurement differ. A good Google ranking does not mean AI assistants will recommend you.
| Aspect | SEO | GEO |
|---|---|---|
| Goal | A position in Google’s results | A mention and citation in the AI answer |
| Where you show up | Google, Bing | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google’s AI Overviews |
| What works | Content, technology, backlinks | Readable technology, the answer up front, mentions on other sites, a clear brand entity |
| Technical basis | Crawlability, load time, indexing | Content in the HTML from the server, because AI crawlers do not run JavaScript |
| What is measured | Positions, impressions, clicks | Mention rate, cited pages, share against competitors |
What decides whether AI names you?
There are plenty of promises around GEO. We stick to what studies and our own tests show. Four levers matter, in this order.
-
AI crawlers have to be able to read your site
OpenAI’s GPTBot and Anthropic’s ClaudeBot fetch JavaScript files but do not run them. Anything that is not already in the HTML from the server stays invisible to them. Many modern websites only assemble their content in the browser. It is the most common blocker, and the first thing we check.

The answer belongs at the top
AI systems cite passages, not whole pages. If the first paragraph answers the question and questions serve as headings, the model finds exactly the passage it can take over.
-
Other sites carry the recommendation
AI systems often build recommendations from comparison articles, directories, review platforms and expert articles. So GEO includes being present on exactly the pages that get cited in your market. Your own website alone is rarely enough.
-
Measure, don’t guess
AI answers change from query to query. It only becomes meaningful with a fixed set of questions asked regularly across several AI systems. Then real trends show instead of lucky hits.
What we deliberately don’t overrate llms.txt and structured data
We set up both, on our own website too. An llms.txt summarises your site for language models, and structured data makes your company, services and contacts unambiguous. On their own, though, they will not get you into the answers. They help once the technology, content and mentions are right.
Our GEO services.
From the first assessment to ongoing monitoring. We build the technology and the content ourselves, without handing over to a second agency.
-
Where do AI systems mention me today, and whom do they recommend instead?
GEO audit
We ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI Overviews the questions your customers ask and record who gets named and why. We also check your technology and the sources in your market. The result is a prioritised plan you can carry out yourself if you want to.
-
Can an AI crawler read my website at all?
AI-readable technology
Finished HTML from the server, a clear page structure, structured data and an unambiguous company entity. As a Webflow and Astro agency we build this straight into your website, existing or new.
-
Which of my pages would an AI cite?
Content for AI answers
We rework key pages so models cite them: answer first, questions as headings, comparisons, definitions and concrete figures. New content covers the questions people ask in your market.
-
Where does AI get its recommendations in my market?
Sources and mentions
We find the comparison articles, directories and industry portals AI systems cite in your field, and make sure you appear there.
-
Do I need a second agency next to SEO?
SEO and GEO from one team
Google rankings and AI mentions with one plan, one team and one report. The foundations overlap, so we don’t separate them.
-
How often am I mentioned, and is it growing?
Monitoring
A fixed set of questions, asked regularly across several AI systems. You see how often you are mentioned, which pages get cited and how you compare with your competitors.
Results you can check.
At the start we agree on the questions you want to be named for and record the baseline. After that we ask the same questions every month across several AI systems. So you see in black and white what is moving.
- Mention rate
- How many answers to your questions include your company
- Cited pages
- Which pages of your website the AI gives as a source
- Share of voice
- How often you are mentioned compared with your main competitors
Nobody can guarantee mentions; AI answers are generated anew every time. What we commit to: a clean baseline, a fixed set of questions and a monthly report with the next steps.

Questions?
Answers to the questions we get asked most, from the technical side to how we work. Still missing something? Just get in touch, we are always happy to help.
It makes sure AI systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI Overviews name your company and cite your website as a source.
That takes three things: a website AI crawlers can read, content that answers questions directly, and mentions on the pages the models build their answers from. Ongoing measurement shows whether the work is paying off.
SEO aims for positions in Google’s results, GEO for mentions in an AI answer. The foundations overlap: fast, clean pages and good content help both.
The levers still differ. AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, models cite individual passages rather than whole pages, and mentions on other sites carry a lot of weight. According to an Ahrefs analysis of 15,000 queries, only around 12% of the links ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot cite also rank in Google’s top 10 for the same question.
Essentially none. All of these terms describe optimising for the answers AI systems generate. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) has become the most widely used, and AI SEO or ChatGPT SEO refer to the same field.
Technical improvements work fastest, because AI crawlers can then read your pages in full. Content and mentions on other sites take longer; expect a few months.
Because AI answers vary from query to query, we judge trends over several weeks, not individual answers.
With a fixed set of questions asked regularly across several AI systems. We count how often your company is named, which of your pages appear as sources and how often your competitors come up.
We record the baseline at the start, and after that you get a monthly report with the next steps.
It does no harm and is quick to set up, and we add one to every website. On its own, though, it will not get you into the answers. What matters more is readable technology, clear content and mentions on pages AI systems already cite.
That is where it matters most. People buying software, consulting or machinery ask AI assistants for a first overview before they contact providers. The answer usually names only a few. If you appear there, you are on the list before the first conversation starts.
Both start from the same foundation: a website that is technically clean and answers questions clearly. That is why we plan SEO and GEO together. The audit shows which measures come first.
No. AI answers are generated anew every time and depend on sources nobody controls alone. What we commit to: a clean baseline, a fixed set of questions and a monthly report that shows you what is moving.
